Judith's first appearance outside of her “dragon freak” attacks on blastia has her tank a blow for Yuri despite having no reason to, then reveals herself to be a Krityan in Stripperific attire who is quick to flirt with Yuri and even quicker to get into a fight. His second appearance establishes his tricky Wild Card status and reveals he is much smarter than he seems. He's also personally taken from the cell by Alexei, hinting at them having a connection. He's also quick to be made a fool by Yuri. Raven shows up first cheerfully engaging a knight on guard duty in the prison in a conversation and acting very fishy indeed, while being someone who does (despite the act) know more than he appears to.As a bonus, she's established as something of The Dreaded by how people react to the group wanting to talk to Mordio even before they meet her. Her genius credentials are also shown by the appearance of all the formulas and work she's doing in her small shack. Rita's first appearance has her grumpily wake up and toss a fireball at the group and act all indignant and apathetic to the group even after they are properly introduced. He then quickly proves to know a lot about various things and yet still is an Idiot Hero. He then follows it up by trying to look impressive despite all of that and brags about all the Guilds he's been in. Karol's first appearance has him screaming trying to attack a monster (that isn't here) with a weapon too big for him before having a freak out thinking he's going to die.But she also hesitates on what to do to reach her goal. She soon proves to be a friend of Flynn's and half-bullies Yuri into helping her despite only just having met him. Estelle's first appearance shows her on the run from knights who are trying to prevent her from doing something and, though she's polite, she's more than willing to get into a sword fight with them to reach her goal. When he gets into a fight with knights, he's shown to be very skilled though mocking and obviously not taking things that seriously, while also still enjoying himself. He also shows contempt for the nobles and knights, while bringing up Flynn for the first time in a positive manner. Yuri's first appearance has him acting apathetic about the crisis outside but despite snarking he's very quick to jump to help once he's done posing. At least at first (see Character Development above). Establishing Character Moment: All are introduced in such a fashion to quickly set up who and what they are.Yuri gets a special mention for wielding the punching device, but all of them play a part in knocking out the Adephagos. Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Yes they do.Even Karol has hang ups thanks to his constant guild hopping before he meets Yuri and forms his own Guild.

  • Dark and Troubled Past: Of the entire group, only Estelle doesn't have some kind of suffering or sorrow in her past ( because the game makes up for that in spades).
  • This trope pays a part in how Brave Vesperia ends up a Family of Choice for the group. That said, it's not always convenient as all of Judith's various issues can be traced to what her father did and what happened after he died.
  • Conveniently an Orphan: None of them have any blood family - except for Estelle having a cousin - alive.
  • For example, Yuri uses swords or axes as his primary weapon, and a gauntlet on his fist as his sub-weapon.
  • Choice of Two Weapons: Per the game system, they all have a "sub-weapon" to go with their primary Weapon of Choice.
  • For example, Yuri's inner idealist comes to life, Rita and Judith learn to rely on others and what it's like to have friends, while Raven gains a new lease on life literally.
  • Character Development: Though Estelle and Karol are the most obvious ones to go through it, the rest do this as well, slowly changing their views and opinions as much as attitudes.

They even go on to defeat Adephagos and save the world!

  • Badass Crew: With Karol, Yuri, Judith, Estelle, Repede, Rita, Raven, Patty, and Flynn on the team there is no doubt.

Adaptational Badass: Downplayed, but all of them get beefed up in the PS3 re-release, with Flynn truly becoming a Party Member and Patty joining the group as well.Despite appearances, it's not Yuri who's the Guild Leader but Karol. Though the rest aren't officially part of the Guild (Flynn in particular is part of the Imperial Knights still) their close association with them has them considered part of the Guild by others. The name comes from Estelle who takes it from the brightest star in the sky, of which there is a legend of a brother and sister who saved the world from a great cataclysm. Brave Vesperia is the Guild formed by Karol, Yuri, and Judith at the start of the second act of the game, after Karol was kicked out of the Hunting Blades and Yuri decided that a Guild suits him.
